Hazel 4D's Diane raises £2,000 from half marathon
Hazel 4D’s Executive Assistant ran the Leeds Half Marathon on 8th May to raise money for a local child with severe learning disabilities.
Diane, who has never run a half marathon before flew across the finish line in a total time of 2 hours, 29 minutes and 16 seconds.
So far she has raised a grand total of £2,200 through sponsorship from employees at Hazel 4D and from family and friends. The money raised will buy a sensory pod for Sienna Shorto, an 11 year old girl from Leeds who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, Autism and a CDK13 chromosome disorder.
Sienna requires 24 hour care so the pod will give her a space of her own where she can relax. PODS are innovative pop up sensory spaces for children with hearing disabilities, learning difficulties and sensory needs, changing children’s experiences in a matter of minutes. The highly innovative PODS will keep children safe and calm for hours, leaving parents time for themselves.
Diane said “I set myself a huge challenge in running the half marathon and would to thank everybody for their support & generosity. It has been wonderful to be able to do this for such a wonderful, special girl & I hope the sensory pod will bring her lots of happiness”
